BIOGRAPHY

**Fuck the Mainstream (F.T.M.)**, is a Texas-based underground band that carved out a niche in the thrash-industrial rock scene since late 1999 with a revolving lineup with the sole constant member being lead vocalist / guitarist – Will T.

Fuck the Mainstream (F.T.M.) emerged in the mid-2000s, blending thrash metal, industrial rock, and punk energy into a raw, rebellious sound. Their ethos unapologetically anti-mainstream, reflected in their aggressive riffs, distorted electronics, and politically charged lyrics. The band’s name itself was a declaration of their stance against commercialized music and industry norms.

F.T.M. was known for their high-energy live shows, often performing at underground venues and independent festivals; South Texas . One notable performance was at the “South Texas 420 Fest”, where they played their track “Heaven Lies” and “People Criticize” among others to an enthusiastic crowd. Their DIY approach extended beyond their music—self-producing tracks, distributing their work through grassroots networks, and maintaining a fiercely independent presence.

While details on their full discography remain elusive, some of their tracks gained traction among underground listeners. Songs like “Get back to work”, “So Long”, “Scar Song”, and “Ready to Die” showcased their fusion of industrial beats with metal aggression with hints of punk. Their sound draws comparisons to bands like Ministry and early Nine Inch Nails, but with a distinctly Texan grit. Though F.T.M. never reached mainstream recognition (fittingly), their impact on local underground scenes is undeniable. They embodied the **DIY ethos**, inspiring other independent artists to reject industry constraints and forge their own paths. Their music remains a cult favorite among fans of industrial-thrash hybrids, and rare footage of their performances continues to circulate online.

Recently, FTM has found renewed popularity through social media outlets abroad thanks to the likes of TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and more!

The band is currently hard at work on their latest offering “Paper Cliche”. So far two songs from this upcoming release have been released on their label Fuck the Mainstream Records compilations “The Graffiti Tree: An Audio Compilation” and “ONE FOR THE ROAD: A compilation of friends, thugs, and back ally tugs”. With another slated to appear on the labels upcoming comp “Music to Help Fight the Suck” slated for a release sometime Summer 2025!
